Iran, again, is seeing its influence experience a considerable strike. Syria under Assad was component of the link in between the Iranians and Hezbollah, and it was key for the move of tools and ammo to the team.
Hezbollah itself is seriously compromised after its year-long battle with Israel and its future is uncertain.
Another Iranian-supported faction, the Houthis in Yemen, have been consistently targeted in air strikes. All these factions, plus militias in Iraq and Hamas in Gaza, form what Tehran explains as the Axis of Resistance, which has currently been seriously damaged.
This new picture will be celebrated in Israel where Iran is deemed an existential risk.
Many think this offending could not have happened without the true blessing of Turkey. Turkey, which supports some of the rebels in Syria, has rejected support HTS.
For some time, Head of state Recep Tayyip Erdogan had pushed Assad to participate in settlements to find a diplomatic service to the dispute that could permit the return of Syrian evacuees.
